Haul + First Impression: ColorPop

Everyone across the internet in the beauty community are raving about Colorpop all of a sudden. I had heard that they easily rival the high end brands, but with a $5 price tag. With the $5 dollars off first purchase and free shadow for Colorpop's first birthday, I couldn't resist the chance at getting 2 free products.

First off, how cute is it that they include  hand written letter. That's a sign of a good company, trying to make themselves more personal.

The packaging from Colorpop is great. Very high quality for items that are so inexpensive. The packaging of these products look clean and the holographic labeling is gorgeous. The sleek lippie stix packaging reminds me of Copic markers, which are artist grade markers. The packaging on these products don't seem the least bit flimsy either.

Super Shock Shadows
Game Face: Metallic copper
So Quiche: Metallic taupe with pink and silver shimmer
Birthday Girl: Metallic pale pink with loads of glitter
Cricket: Metallic cool toned purple with silver and pink shimmer
Bae: Metallic plum with teal blue shimmer

(With Camera flash; L-R: Game Face, So Quiche, Birthday Girl, Cricket, Bae)

Seriously these Super shock shadows are so intriguing. The texture of them are pillowy soft, and silky, feel like a creme almost, but look and behave more like a powder. The texture is comparable to L'Oreal Infalliable shadows, but the Super Shock do seem to be a bit more creamier. I find the best application with these is with fingers.

I definitely recommend getting Bae. I've never come across a shadow quite like this. Not to mention it combines teal and plum, two of my favorite colors.

(L-R: Lumiere, Leather, Creature)

Lippie Stix
Lumiere: Matte warm mid-tone pink.
Leather: Matte deep orchid
Creature: Matte oxblood

(Colorpop Lippie Stix in Lumiere)

I was never into MLBB lip colors. These shades always make my lips look puffy in my opinion. Some people seem to like it, but I think my lips are big enough as it is. I decided to give this shade a go, still gives me a puffy lip look, but the formula is nice.

(Colorpop Lippie Stix in Leather)

Leather didn't turn out how I expected it to be. I was hoping for a color closer to the tube shade, a deep purple, but this is definitely more of a dark purple orchid color. I'd say this is actually a great shade for those who want to dabble in purple lip colors because this seems quite wearable. I guess next time I'll try out Feminist to get that deep purple I wanted.

(Colorpop Lippie Stix in Creature)

Creature is oxblood heaven in all of its deep brown and red gory. Definitely a must have out of the 3 shades in my opinion.

Haul: May 2015 Sephora

I've been on a no-buy for awhile. Believe it or not, I've been trying to focus less on makeup and more on skin care lately. While I was on Sephora to get my Birthday gift from them, I checked out the point perks, and the sales section. Lo and behold, I was pleasantly surprised with all the great things on sale so I indulged. A birthday gift to myself, I suppose.

Sephora Haul
May 2015:

Philosophy Purely New Beginnings set
Includes:
Purity made simple Deep-Clean Mask: 120 ml/ 4 fl. oz.
Purity made simple One-Step Facial Cleanser:  473.1 ml/ 16  fl. oz.
Purity made simple Mineral oil-free Cleansing Oil: 174 ml/ 5.8 fl. oz.

I thought this was a ridiculously amazing deal. The retail value of this products together is $85, this set original retailed for $55, and I got it on sale for $38.50 from their website. TOO perfect of a deal for me, considering I was originally going to purchase the 8 fl oz Cleanser anyway because I'm running out. It's been my go-to facial cleanser for the past 2 years. So far I've went through 2 of the 8 ounce bottles. The 16 oz. bottle goes for $36 now, so for essentially $2.50 more you get the mask and cleansing oil.

I was starting to get really bummed out that every time I look up the price of the cleanser I seems to go up a couple dollars. I believe my original 8 ounce was a straight $20 but now it retails for $4 more. Thankfully I'm all set for awhile.

Tarte Strike A Pose Limited-Edition Statement Lash Set
Includes:
Lash curler
Lights, Camera, Flashes mascara

I've heard brillant things about the Tarte and Shu Uemura lash curlers, but I never wanted to splurge on it. So I've forever dealt with flimsy low end lash curlers. Upon using it, I can definitely tell it is more well made and who wouldn't enjoy the luxurious gold tone of these? My only gripe is that the grips are too smooth and so you can't get a proper grip with them. The free mascara was a great bonus item too. This set was on sale for $13 when I purchased it.

Tarte Glam on the Go
Includes:
Kabuki brush
Traveling case

I've never really owned a higher end brush before and I was on the market for a new kabuki brush. the traveling case will come in handy, considering my kabuki brushes are always deformed when I stuff them in my makeup bags.

FREE SAMPLE GALORE:

Gift with purchase over $25:
bareMinerals spf 15 Original Foundation Powder + mini kabuki brush.

Free 3 sample with online purchase:
Dior Diorshow mascara

Alien By Thierry Mugler perfume sample

Free Beauty Insider Birthday gift:
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Rikugien and Cruella

Sephora is really steppin up their game with this Birthday gifts. First time trying anything from Nars and these are really generous sample sizes.

Beauty Insider 500-point perk:
Marc Jacobs
Mini Highliner Gel Eye Crayon
Mini Magic Marc-er Precision Pen Eyeliner
Mini O!Mega ash Volumizing Mascara
Mini LE Marc Lip Creme

I've been stalking the Sephora website for a worthy 500 point perk for AGES and I finally found it. I've never tried Marc Jacobs products because I think they are crazy expensive so it's nice to get to try these out. Big plus on the fact that everything screams to my taste buds: the magenta lipstick and the black eye products.
