Colourpop Just my Luck Versus Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions

Finally, the palette we have all been begging for in the comments of every single instagram post of Colourpop. Great to see a brand actually listen to their audience. I'm very glad that its a truly green palette and not neutral with a pop of green or half neutrals. I picked it up along with some bits and bobs when it went live. I also have some swatches of the Huda beauty Emerald obsessions since everyone is probably wonder how these green palettes compare.

Colourpop - Just My Luck (natural indirect light)

Huda Beauty - Emerald Obsessions (nautral indirect light)

As you can tell from the swatches, Just My Luck generally contains brighter green eyeshadows as compared to Emerald Obsessions, which seems a bit more earthy/muted in tones. The mattes of Just My Luck are much more pigmented, while the shimmers in Emerald obsessions are more brillant/shinier/glittery. This goes without saying that the Huda beauty's palette will have more fallout due to the glitter of some shades. A person can definiety create similar eye looks with both, however if your as particular and crazy like I am with makeup collecting then both have just enough of a difference to warrant obtaining both the green palettes from Colourpop and Huda Beauty.

Huda Beauty - Emerald Obsessions (Left)/ Colourpop - Just My Luck (Right)

Here are comparision swatches of the 4 most similar shades in each. I'm just going to go by Colourpop's naming system considering Huda beauty's individual shadows aren't named.

Chances are... -  Matte Mint Green. Huda's is a bit lighter, but overall so similar I doubt anyone will be able to tell the difference if worn on opposite eyes.

Charmed - Matte olive. Huda's is a cooler matte olive compared to the warmth in Colourpop's matte olive.

Act Natural - Matte green. These are actually quite a bit different.Huda's is lighter matte with a bluer understone, while Colourpop is a slighty truer green (but still more blue toned than Mo Bamba).

Olive U - Shimmery Olives. Not very similar at all. Colourpop's is much more lighter and yellow toned.

Welp, now I just wish colourpop came out with an all purple palette. I doubt it will happen considering they are marketing It's My Pleasure as their Purple Pallete. My annoyance with it is that there are only 2 purple shadows, while the rest are berries/pinks. It should actually be considered a berry pallete if anything.
