Life Update: Growing up

I'm not dead, but This year has been a whirl wind of realization and changes.

Early College.
Well Technically early admission. It's a program where seniors in high school attend college like a freshmen in college earning college credits but also earning high school credits at the same time. It was the biggest decision of my life.

 I was torn away from the ability to see my boyfriend and friends as consistently as I have, and experience my senior year. When I hear that we were on our own, I never thought that that also meant I would never be informed about any Graduation things such as my yearbook, cap and gown, or prom things. Luckily I had friends to inform me.

On the upside I was able to earn half of my AA for FREE. I've mentally grown quite a bit being around older people that are actually serious about school. The atmosphere was a ton calmer, which I believe cleared up my face from my horrible acne. I guess it was just all the stress and hormones involved with high school

Work.
I got a job busing tables at a Chinese restaurant. Sure it's not the most glamorous job, but I get paid over minimum wage at least. I love my coworkers and I've learn so much about my culture and how to socialize with strangers on a day to day bases. Prior the idea of speaking to adults scared and intimidated me to no end.

Heartbreak.
The mixture of work and going to a completely separate school from my boyfriend was taking a toll on our relationship. We had different schedules for work too.

3 years. Three years of my life was spent dedicated to loving this single person. I was basically with him for practically four because we were together since the middle of our freshmen year. We went through our highs and our lows.

We were complete opposites. Music, food, tastes, likes, dislikes, and personality-wise. We believed that it was our strength. We were wrong. We realized we had grown into completely two separate people with different paths to follow. Ironic because of how typical it is of high school sweet hearts to break during graduation time.

The health of our relationship turned sour. I wasn't able to give him the proper attention he deserved and wanted and he never stuck with his promises to me. Every night would end with a phone call of misery as one or both of us would leave upset.

I had seen the end coming near. So many signs were put forth, but I still had a death grip on the shred of good memories and hope. After he brought up how he lost his love for me due to those reasons, we mutually agreed that breaking up would be the better for the both of us. Now it is time for me to let that shred go, and I will.

He was my High School Sweetheart and first of everything. Despite many regrets, I've experienced and learned so much being in this relationship. Now it is time to move on. Coming out of it, I learned how to respect myself, not be a pushover, and to be less naive.

New Horizons. 
It's time to start a new chapter of my life as I enter a university and move away from a county I've lived 18 years of my life.

NOTM: Saran/Plastic Wrap Duo-Chromes

I found this amazing idea from a discussion post in the Makeup Alley's Nail board. It looked so complex and possibly water marbled, but to think that it can be achieved so simply. This technique is so easy, mess-less, and cheap that it was dying for me to attempt it.

 (Sorry for the chipping. Second day nails and after busing tables)

This beauty is a mix of:
2 coats of China Glaze - Rare & Radiant
1 coat of China Glaze - Deviantly Daring

Both Polishes are from the Bohemian Luster Chrome collection by China Glaze.

To get this look, all you need are 2 varnishes of your choice and as bit of saran wrap.
1) Lay down your base color.
2) Wait for that to dry
3) Lay down a coat of your 2nd color.
4) Quickly before the 2nd color dries, dab the loosely clumped plastic wrap onto the nail.
Wah-la~ That's it.

On their own, I was quite displeased with the strength of the duo-chrome in these polishes. To me they pretty much look like regular metallic polishes. Still pretty, but SUCH a disappointment.

NP Swatch: China Glaze - It's a Trap-ese!

"Jelly Sandwiches" are just one of the many crazes happening in the world of nail polish fanatics. It's hard to find a premade Jelly Sandwich from a non-indie polish brand, so I was pleasantly surprised and immediately on the hunt for China Glaze's Cirque du Soleil collection for It's a Trap-ese!. 

It's A Trap-ese!
- Densely packed opaque (pink, yellow, green silver, blue) circular and hexagonal glitter that are suspended in a milky white base.
- Apart of the China Glaze's Cirque Du Soleil collection
- $6.59 from Sally's
- 1 to 2 coats to be opaque
- 2 coats pictured above
- It's a Trap-ese! is a bit thick because of the density of the glitters.
- Luckily, it doesn't dry abnormally slow despite the thickness.


-I absolutely adore this polish. This might be odd, but It's A trap-ese! reminds me of my childhood. My thoughts every time I see it go back to early mornings before school eating Trix or Fruit Loops with milk. Yummy sickly sweet goodness.

Review: Covergirl Lip Perfection (The CVS Clearanced)

Okay so I thought that somebody out there would appreciate swatches of some of the Covergirl Lip Perfections together while seeing them at the CVS clearance that's going on. I know I would have. I was looking up swatches on my phone like crazy trying to decide if it was a good color. So this will be mainly up for the swatches and I may add more because I think I want at least 2 more lipsticks.

Smolder: My-lips-but-better type of nude with a tinge of brown to it that has a creme finish
Impassion: Bright shimmery slightly burnt orange. Despite its appearance it's not too incredibly shocking too wear.

Entrall: Bright shimmery red. A bit too bright red for my tastes so I have yet to wear it out.

Fervor: Rosy Mauve with a creme finish. Dries down to a satiny almost matte finish as seen above.

I must say these lipsticks are phenomenal. They're pigmented, smooth, and not heavy on the lips. I didn't experience any drying from these either.

The plastic tube seems durable enough. The squared shape of the tube also makes them easy to store together. The bottom even has the lipstick within it so you know exactly what color you have without having to open the tube.

Overall:
10 out of 10
I found no faults with these Covergirl lip perfections as of yet. These want me to actually dabble into Covergirl products again. By far my favorite product by Covergirl yet even though that's not saying much since mostly everything I have tried from the brand has failed me.
