Haul + First Impression: ColorPop

Everyone across the internet in the beauty community are raving about Colorpop all of a sudden. I had heard that they easily rival the high end brands, but with a $5 price tag. With the $5 dollars off first purchase and free shadow for Colorpop's first birthday, I couldn't resist the chance at getting 2 free products.

First off, how cute is it that they include  hand written letter. That's a sign of a good company, trying to make themselves more personal.

The packaging from Colorpop is great. Very high quality for items that are so inexpensive. The packaging of these products look clean and the holographic labeling is gorgeous. The sleek lippie stix packaging reminds me of Copic markers, which are artist grade markers. The packaging on these products don't seem the least bit flimsy either.

Super Shock Shadows
Game Face: Metallic copper
So Quiche: Metallic taupe with pink and silver shimmer
Birthday Girl: Metallic pale pink with loads of glitter
Cricket: Metallic cool toned purple with silver and pink shimmer
Bae: Metallic plum with teal blue shimmer

(With Camera flash; L-R: Game Face, So Quiche, Birthday Girl, Cricket, Bae)

Seriously these Super shock shadows are so intriguing. The texture of them are pillowy soft, and silky, feel like a creme almost, but look and behave more like a powder. The texture is comparable to L'Oreal Infalliable shadows, but the Super Shock do seem to be a bit more creamier. I find the best application with these is with fingers.

I definitely recommend getting Bae. I've never come across a shadow quite like this. Not to mention it combines teal and plum, two of my favorite colors.

(L-R: Lumiere, Leather, Creature)

Lippie Stix
Lumiere: Matte warm mid-tone pink.
Leather: Matte deep orchid
Creature: Matte oxblood

(Colorpop Lippie Stix in Lumiere)

I was never into MLBB lip colors. These shades always make my lips look puffy in my opinion. Some people seem to like it, but I think my lips are big enough as it is. I decided to give this shade a go, still gives me a puffy lip look, but the formula is nice.

(Colorpop Lippie Stix in Leather)

Leather didn't turn out how I expected it to be. I was hoping for a color closer to the tube shade, a deep purple, but this is definitely more of a dark purple orchid color. I'd say this is actually a great shade for those who want to dabble in purple lip colors because this seems quite wearable. I guess next time I'll try out Feminist to get that deep purple I wanted.

(Colorpop Lippie Stix in Creature)

Creature is oxblood heaven in all of its deep brown and red gory. Definitely a must have out of the 3 shades in my opinion.

Haul: May 2015 Sephora

I've been on a no-buy for awhile. Believe it or not, I've been trying to focus less on makeup and more on skin care lately. While I was on Sephora to get my Birthday gift from them, I checked out the point perks, and the sales section. Lo and behold, I was pleasantly surprised with all the great things on sale so I indulged. A birthday gift to myself, I suppose.

Sephora Haul
May 2015:

Philosophy Purely New Beginnings set
Includes:
Purity made simple Deep-Clean Mask: 120 ml/ 4 fl. oz.
Purity made simple One-Step Facial Cleanser:  473.1 ml/ 16  fl. oz.
Purity made simple Mineral oil-free Cleansing Oil: 174 ml/ 5.8 fl. oz.

I thought this was a ridiculously amazing deal. The retail value of this products together is $85, this set original retailed for $55, and I got it on sale for $38.50 from their website. TOO perfect of a deal for me, considering I was originally going to purchase the 8 fl oz Cleanser anyway because I'm running out. It's been my go-to facial cleanser for the past 2 years. So far I've went through 2 of the 8 ounce bottles. The 16 oz. bottle goes for $36 now, so for essentially $2.50 more you get the mask and cleansing oil.

I was starting to get really bummed out that every time I look up the price of the cleanser I seems to go up a couple dollars. I believe my original 8 ounce was a straight $20 but now it retails for $4 more. Thankfully I'm all set for awhile.

Tarte Strike A Pose Limited-Edition Statement Lash Set
Includes:
Lash curler
Lights, Camera, Flashes mascara

I've heard brillant things about the Tarte and Shu Uemura lash curlers, but I never wanted to splurge on it. So I've forever dealt with flimsy low end lash curlers. Upon using it, I can definitely tell it is more well made and who wouldn't enjoy the luxurious gold tone of these? My only gripe is that the grips are too smooth and so you can't get a proper grip with them. The free mascara was a great bonus item too. This set was on sale for $13 when I purchased it.

Tarte Glam on the Go
Includes:
Kabuki brush
Traveling case

I've never really owned a higher end brush before and I was on the market for a new kabuki brush. the traveling case will come in handy, considering my kabuki brushes are always deformed when I stuff them in my makeup bags.

FREE SAMPLE GALORE:

Gift with purchase over $25:
bareMinerals spf 15 Original Foundation Powder + mini kabuki brush.

Free 3 sample with online purchase:
Dior Diorshow mascara

Alien By Thierry Mugler perfume sample

Laura Mercier foundation primer sample in radiance

Free Beauty Insider Birthday gift:
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Rikugien and Cruella

Sephora is really steppin up their game with this Birthday gifts. First time trying anything from Nars and these are really generous sample sizes.

Beauty Insider 500-point perk:
Marc Jacobs
Mini Highliner Gel Eye Crayon
Mini Magic Marc-er Precision Pen Eyeliner
Mini O!Mega ash Volumizing Mascara
Mini LE Marc Lip Creme

I've been stalking the Sephora website for a worthy 500 point perk for AGES and I finally found it. I've never tried Marc Jacobs products because I think they are crazy expensive so it's nice to get to try these out. Big plus on the fact that everything screams to my taste buds: the magenta lipstick and the black eye products.

First YesStyle Haul

Here is my very first ever YesStyle haul~ You probably can't imagine how LONG I've always dreamed of getting things from here. The only thing I'm not showing is the black hat at the top because my friend ordered it.

To me honest I'm never the one to splurge on cloths or rather, on individual items of clothing. I'm a bargain shopper, the sales rack is my go-to. My philosophy for clothing shopping is that you can always find cute things for cheap and you can buy more of them instead of splurging on a single item. So spending so much to reach the free express shipping kinda hurt my conscious a little. This has been the most I've ever spent on a clothing purchase (excluding prom).

Bird Patch Pompom Beanie

Not going to lie, I've been on a crazy beanie kick lately. Just this summer, I crocheted or knitted 10 beanies, getting prepared for winter I guess. Although I have yet to buy one before or make one this color, plus I had no clue how to make this style so I bought it.

The main design is exactly like the model picture, but the pom poms are made out of a thinner thread, which I actually liked more. The hat itself seems made quite well, seems like it would be warm, and fits nicely on my head.

Two complains: One of the pompoms on the ear came off after I tried it on, but it was a simple fix. I was hoping to take the owl off once I got the hat if I didn't like, but it seems like they hot glued it. It would've been nicer if they stitched it on.

Side-Button Capelet

It is made of really soft fleece and is lightweight. I have yet to ever give into the batwing sleeve trend, but this was quite adorable and you'd probably never find anything like this in a store here in America. I can't wait to layer it over some of my winter clothes, if it ever gets relatively cold enough in Florida that is.

Definitely no complains here.

Zip Detail Shoulder bag

THIS was the reason built up the guts to finally order from YesStyle. I was in desperate need to get a bigger and more versatile purse and I had yet to find one that I liked from any stores near me or clothing websites. Of course the $10 shipping fee annoyed me so I ended up raising my order to get the most for my money.

It's a very spacious purse, but this had a list of problems.

-There are 3 different tones of accent gold on this: Rose gold, Light gold and Yellow gold. It wasn't a big deal but I found it a little odd.
-The purse liner was crappily sewn together so at the bottom threads were everywhere and they didn't sew it completely all the way so there was a hole at the bottom. This annoyed me, but it was on the inside of the purse and was fixable with sewing.
-It stunk SO bad of Rubber for the first month, but it did eventually go away so now it's just a fate odor.
-The leather strap bits attached to the purse itself detreaded itself and came off. I had to reattach it onto the purse with sewing. Now, I can started to see he second one coming undone so I'm probably going to have to do the same with that side.
-The main zipper is quite hard to zip up too. It has become a bit easier to zip, but still a hassle every time.

Despite the multiple problems, I quite like the style and other features of this.

Crochet Inset High-Top Sneakers

I had ordered a size 37 and I'm normally a 6 1/2 in US sizes, but they were a little snug so I suggest going a size up. They feel comfortable despite the size being a little small, but they aren't cushioned at all.

The only thing that annoys me about these shoes is the fact that the Tongue is so short and deep into the shoe that you have to hold it while you put them on to prevent it from being bunched.

These aren't exactly the most slip resistant shoes either. So far they are holding up pretty well and aren't getting super dirty.

Overall: I recommend, received a bunch of complements on them from friends too.

Drawstring-Waist Hooded Parka

This was my most expensive Item I purchased in the haul. I love the versatility of this. It can bring a little masculinity to feminine outfits, like how the model is wearing it. The drawstring is nice to bring back some definition to your curves as well.

The outer material of this Parka is almost suede like. I was expecting this to feel a bit more heavier, but it honestly feels similar to a wind breaker.

Drawstring Cropped Harem Pants

Ever since EXO's song History came out, I've been dying to get myself some harem pants so I can shake them too. If you have seen the music video you know exactly which part I'm referring too.

They are very comfortable and made out of a stretchy cotton material. I'm still a bit confused with how I'm going to style this because these make my already big hips look even larger.

Print Pleated Culottes

These were a lot thinner than I was expecting. its very flowy so it is good that it comes with inner shorts as well.  The thin material makes these a really nice piece for Spring and Summer still.

Collective Haul: Up to 11.27.12 + Black Friday stuffies

I want to first say that I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was wonderful and that everyone was able to shop safely as they hunted for some deals.

Sooooo I finally got a Job this pass month so I've been pretty bad with my money. I'm still in the process of figuring out how to deal with money without gunning it all. More about that in a later post.

Here is my Haul from the pass couple months along with Black Friday deals and a couple after BF stuff.

Sephora/Disney - Cinderella palette: I was torn between getting this or the Tarte Carried Away palette.  I just chose the pretty gimmick in the end because I've been super into fairy tales as of late and it does say that it's Vol. 1 so hopefully more to come to collect~ So far I like it, but it definitely comes with problems of it's own.

Target Beauty Bag: I'm so Sad this is the last one that they're giving out. D; I'm loving all of these little makeup bags that come with the samples.

Maybelline Color Tattoos LE - Test my Teal and Rich Mahogany: The textures of this are way better then the regular line in my opinion. I was quite sad that I couldn't find the Beige or Dark Gold Limited Edition colors.

Revlon Lip Butter - Berry Smoothie and Fig Jam: These shades are great and I'm liking the texture of these. I've been reaching for these all the time.

China Glaze - Deviantly Darling and Rare & Radiant: I was quite disappointed in these. The duochrome wasn't too apparent. But They are still pretty none the less.

Jordana blushes - Coral Sandy Beach and Redwood: These gems are amazing, super cheap, and pigmented. I finally got the chance to venture into a Kmart to get these. I've been wanting these for awhile now.

Sinful Colors - Cinderella, Winterberry, and Glass Pink: Cinderella looks gorgeous in the bottle, but I'm not a huge fan of the formula. Winterberry is a nice dusty purple with tiny white shimmer flecks. Glass pink is a great "clean" color.

Ultimate Poshe - Crease brush set: I wouldn't recommend these to be honest. They're a bit scratchy

Black Friday haul

Ulta Mix and Match 5 for $5
~Ulta Nail polish - Celebutante: Cool Purple Creme.
~Vanilla Noel Hand Cream - Smells Nice and since I started working my hands have gone to pieces with dryness so a hand cream was definitely on the shopping list.
~Nail clipper: Nothing much to say here...
~Ulta Shiny Gloss Mini - Mischief: I'm liking the colors and happy it isn't sheer.
~Chi - Silk Infusion- I wanted to see what all the hype about this stuff was about. It smells nice.

Tarte Black Friday set: I thought this was a great deal for half the price you'd get for each plus they are full size products.

 Black Friday Deal

Threshold Fuzzy Blanket: This is so amazingly soft. I've used it twice so far and I felt like I was drifting on a cloud of baby bunnies.

Snake Double ring - I've always loved snake rings and it was on sale for 99 cents for Black Friday.

Nyx Blush - Copper- I love the shimmery pigmented quality to this and it's not your traditional pinky blush color.

Nyx Eyeliner - White: I think I want to try giving the white waterline trick a go one more timee with a more pigmented white.

Haul: My first time at Ulta

Recently I've been loving where I live. My mall got a expanded Forever 21, an makeup counter in sears, and a movie theater.
In addition to ALL of that a plaza very close to where I live opened up a Ulta a couple days ago. It replaced the space where Borders was, sad Borders had to go bankrupt, but super stoked that I get an Ulta near me. The closest one before this was probably an hour or more away so needless to say I never went to one until today.

If I were to ever consider doing the $20 Makeup challenge, THIS ulta portion would be the purchase I'd use with a foundation.  Of course it's probably cheating though, but hey, No ELF products at least. ^^;

ULTA - Single eyeshadow in Sunburst, Toast, Grace, and Honey Bee : ($7) I just couldn't pass up these beautiful colors with the deal that was going on.

ULTA - Mystic Collection Gift with Purchase : ($17.50) 13 piece gift with purchase. Not a big fan of shiny fake leather material and/or any animal prints, but the clutch look nice.
- #218 Good Year for Wine Lipstick
- Femme Fatale Nail Laquer
- Instant Nourish Facial Moisturizer sample
- Eyeshadow Quad of Iceland, Must Have, Eggplant, Eclipse
- Eyeshadow Quad of Silk, Gold Dust, Platinum, Granite
- Legendary Lengths Mascara
- Super Shiny Lip Gloss in #18 Stellar
- Sponge tip, Eyeshadow brush, and Contour/Blush brush
- Dual ended Eyeliner. Deep Brown/Black
- Adore Cheek blush

All items above, Total:  $11.20

Ulta brand makeup was on a Buy 2 get 2 Free. Since the store just opened they gave out a 20% off the entire purchase Coupon. Since my purchase was an Ulta brand cosmetic, I got two choose one out of three types of bags. <--- I didn't even know about the gift until the cashier pointed it out to my delight.
Can you see why this would be cheating in for the $20 Makeup challenge? xD Perfect deal.

Duo Lash Adhesive in Dark Tone : ($5.49) I've heard wonderous things about this. I've also had a few unused falsies for a while because of the bad included lash glues. Plus my senior pictures are in the next couple days, so I'm going to need a little boost for my short stubby lashes.

Maybelline 24 hour concealer in Medium Beige : ($1.94 sale) Lucky~ I've wanted to try out this for a while after all the rave reviews about it, but I just never picked it up.

Estee Lauder - Pure Color Crystal lipstick in 44 Berry Truffle : (gifted) Very pretty on the lips and smells like berry fruit punch.

Estee Lauder - Pure Color Long Lasting and Pure Color Crystal lipstick mix Palette : (gifted) It'll be a nice way to see what colors work with my complexion.

My Mom's coworker gave her two sets of the Estee Lauder stuff So my mom decided to give me the doubles. I'm pretty positive that these are gifts with purchase, which makes me wonder if my mom's coworker is a big Estee Lauder junkie. :P

Haul: CVS Summer 2012 Clearance plus Extras

I took a couple trips to CVS to raid their clearance and because I had a couple of coupons. Like every other beauty blogger I really need to get on a no buy and start using up things. Me, probably WAY less then others, but none the less compared to the average girl I need to, desperately. ^^;

Covergirl - Lip Perfection lipstick in Enthrall Charme: ($3.99) It's actually a lot more bright red then it appears in the tube. It's my first lipstick from this line so I can't vouch for the others, but the texture and color payoff are amazing with this one in particular.

Essence of Beauty - Dual Smokey Eye Shadow Brush : ($1.75) This has been great from my lazy days, but I gotta say my ELF eyeshadow still beats it by a long shot.

Almay - Line Soothing Concealer in Light/Medium : ($2.62) Saving it till I use up at one of my concealers.

Revlon - 24 Hour Colorstay Whipped Foundation in Warm Golden : ($13.99) Super hard to match yourself since all the foundations look alike from the outside. Usually I would be somewhere along the line of Warm Golden, but it turned out too light on me. So I'm going to whip it out again during winter when I'm hopefully lighter. Other then the skin color being off I really do like this, not as much as the original Colorstay foundation though ^^;

Covergirl - Single in Forever Fig : ($1.85) I've yet to try it, but I've swatched it and to be honest, I'm not impressed.

Revlon - Matte Single in Peach Sorbet : ($1.25) Yet another great matte highlight.

Revlon - Satin Single in Polished Bronze : ($1.25) Fits right into my taupe-y eyeshadow family.

Confetti - Nail Polish in Tazmanian Devil : ($1.99) Finally got this to try and take a crack at doing a Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop dupe attempt.

Sally Hansen - HD in Resolution and Hue : ($1.82 each) They look pretty average on their own, but they absolutely shine under a black base.

Used Coupons:
Two CVS Spend $12 on Beauty get $4 off

Total : $24.35
Total w/out Saving: $69.70, if I did my math correctly...

Hope anyone and everyone are having a great summer vacation~

Haul: Sally's Beauty, Target and Ross

Life Update:
Geez, I need to stop getting so busy. School has been pretty brutal this year; managed to get the worst grades I've ever had in my entire life. *Bangs head against table* Good News though, I got into a early admission program. So I'll technically be a college freshmen nest year. Hopefully the college schedule will allow me to get some rest since my sleep schedule has been out of whack since I started high school. I'm talking, sleeping 3-4 hours at night, waking up at 4/5 and then passing out on my bed after I get home. Not good. ^^;

Note: I've decided to list all the sales and clearance prices I got things for at the bottom of posts from now on, so check that out if your interested.

To the Haul~

Sally's Beauty Supply:

Ion Silk Drops - $7.99($6.99 w/card)~ I believe this has the same concept as Biosilk drops or Chi silk infusion. Recently my hair has been acted horrible and frizzy so I've been wanting to get a de-frizz moisture product and apparently you can use this on your skin which is interesting. It's smells amazing too.

China Glaze in Harvest Moon and Fast Track - $5.99($4.99 w/ card)~ Completely pysched about this collection and  movie coming out soon. Harvest Moon in a golden bronze foil.So beautiful. Fast Track is a grey nude taupe color with packed small gold flecks. I'm still a bit on the fence with this color.

Palladio Shadow liner in Eclipse, Raspberry and Icicle - $5.99($5.39 w/ card)~ I've been also on a base colors/Jumbo pencil kick lately too and heard these were quite nice and good on their own.

Target:

Boots Original Beauty Formula Cleansing Milk Geranium- $7.99~ My eyes have been getting so red/puffy/irritated from cleansers/makeup removers lately, and when I found this, the word "milk" had me hoping that is was a very gentle makeup remover for some reason. I used it right when I got home and so far so good, removed and didn't burn. :D

Sonia Kashuk luxury lip color in Truffle - $8.99~ Seems like a nice brown nude, just what I've been needing. Love the white sleek squared tube it's in.

Ross:

Sorry for the washed out picture.

Roxy Lieutenant purse - Original: $44. Store: $16.99~ I needed a compact less "Loud" purse to carry around casually. It's a over the shoulder satchel-type purse and the sides are about 2 inched wide.

Sale/Clearance Breakdown:
Sally's Beauty Supply
Ion Silk Drops - Free from renewing my card in February
Palladio Shadow Liner - Buy 2 get one free on Palladio products
Target
Boots Cleansing Milk - $3.98 on sale because the box packaging was ripped at the top.
Sonia Kashuk lipstick - $0.69 on sale because of repackaging or discontinuation. Rang up 69 cents even though it said $2.24 on the sticker.

Haul~ Finally Joining the Bandwagon

So from my recent break from blogging anything because of my lack of camera, I've been yearning to show my top favorite hauled items during that time.

Let's kick this off with more nail polish.
*sigh* Seems like I've been going on a polish buying spree recently. Nail polish is just too pretty to pass up nowadays.

Kleancolor Nail lacquers in Holo Chrome, Sugar Coat, Bridal Shower - $1.99~
Bought them at a local accessory store in Tampa. I've tried them all and I have to say Bridal Shower is my Favorite, but it's so hard to remove. ): Sugar Coat was a bit goopy and slow drying too.

OPI DS Collection in DS Amethyst- $15.99
Bought it at a local Beauty supply store in Tampa. OPI Holos look so Gorgeous, so expensive but so worth it. The most I've ever spent on a nail polish.

Orly, Birds of a Feather Nail Lacquer Gift Set with Fowl Play, Lucky Duck, Sweet Peacock, and a Extra bag- $9.99~
I was so trilled when I found Fowl Play at my local Sally's Beauty Supply. I was dieing to get it since summer, after I heard it was a dupe for OPI's Merry Midnight. My Sally's stopped displaying the individual collection so I bought the set, which was a great deal since your getting Three Orlys for $10. So far I've tried Fowl Play and Lucky Duck, but I plan to try out Sweet Peacock soon enough.

Physician's Formula Set with Baked Souffle, Classic Basics, Touch of Smoke- $6.99~
Complete Steal. For $6.99, it was like a buy one and getting two free. Plus I've been wanting some more neutral colors. I've been Loving Baked Souffle quite a bit, but quite underwhelmed with  Classic Basics. Touch of Smoke makes a good subtle shimmery layering color.

Urban Decay's Naked Palette with a mini Primer Potion and a Good Karma Eyeshadow brush- $48
I paid $21 plus tax. How? I had a $15 off $50 coupon from my Email and $12 left on a Jcpenney gift card. Yay, for getting more then Half off on a high end Product. :P
But Yes, I've finally joined the Naked cult, extremely late considering the Naked 2 just came out, but after searching up reviews comparing the two, although I love taupes to death, I can't seem to pull off greys or silvers. So I didn't take any chances and went with the original Naked. The Original also came with a mini Primer Potion, that I've never tried.
I'm also super stoked that this is my first Urban Decay product, but also my first full sized high end product.

Update: Back in Action! O~O

So Yeah... I've been away because of my broken camera dilemma for quite awhile. But Don't Despair because *drumroll* I FINALLY got a new camera so I should be updating every so often now again.

This school year's been so crazy so far. Scholarships, volunteering, club activities, job searching, and keeping up my grades, it's all making my head spin. I've really appreciated this much needed break.

My highlight was definitely Thanksgiving/Black Friday. Besides the dinner, waiting outside in the chilly weather for 3 hours till the opening of Target was dreadful. Luckily I was roughly around the 52-ish(beginning) person in the line, of which stretched all the way around the plaza.

It seemed like everyone there was gunning for the 42 or 46 inch. TVs or the Camera I'm about to show you below.  About 15 minutes after opening, Target was a sea of ginormous TVs.

Now onto my Camera~
Nikon Coolpix L105
- On Sale for $99.99, originally $199.99
- 15x Optical Zoom (HUGE differences from my old 3x Kodak)
- 720p HD video
- Looks Professional for a point and shoot camera, but definitely not very discrete because of it's large size.
- Comes with a Lens cap, Neck Strap, Manual, Software, and four AA batteries.
- The worst part about it is the fact that is does need four AA Batteries, but I've realized that that can be a good thing too, considering it will have a long battery life because from my experience with rechargeable electronics, they die out quite quickly.

On a separate topic, look what I scored at Ross~

Left to Right: No Shrinking Violet, Iced Spice, Raisin Rage, Black with Envy

Price: $5.99
Seriously that is basically a buy one get 3 free deal right there. They cam packaged in a plastic cylinder, was inconvenient to take a picture of, but if you missed getting the Black with Envy nail Polish Check you local Ross. (Side note: They also had the Color Club collections, Holiday 2011 glitters and the Foiled one. So maybe they will end up in yours too)
And Yes, that's the coveted Chanel Black Pearl dupe called Black with Envy. It was the Reason I bought the set really. Not really excited about Raisin Rage, which is a dark red creme, of which I already have very similar colors off.

P.S. I'm writing this right before my first ever job interview so wish me luck~
