Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

Holy Moly. Patience really is a virtue, which is apparently something I apparently don't have.

I started off the year with getting my ears pierced. First attempt after 2 infected failures 8 and 5 years ago. NEVER get piercings done with a gun. Third time's the charm (with a needle at a tattoo shop). Healed perfectly well in 3-4 months. Success. ^~^;

Then I got my second hole ear piercings after I decided that I want to start stretching my first lobe piercings. Personally the reason is to make up for the 18 years of thinking that I couldn't because I was "metal sensitive," which is a bunch of bologna.  Decided 6g was my goal size. Why? Because you still can wear loads of dangling spirals, just hit the size to get pretty plugs, it's not too big, and will be easily hidden to not endanger my nursing career goal.

I bought a titanum taper/tunnel kit to start stretching. It was easy breezy from 16g - 12g, every 2 weeks or so. Then it started getting sightly more painful using a 10g taper. So I started waiting a month later to put the 10g taper in. Waited a month and a half to get to an 8g.

Waited 2 months, super excited to get to my goal size, but the taper wouldn't not go in. Visually, from a 8g to a 6g is ridiculously big. So I decided to use bondage tape to start the taping method.  Two wraps around and waited a week. Decided to wrap 2 more layers, but it wouldn't go through. So I decided to maybe use the taper to stretch it enough to put the taped plugs back in.

Stupidly, I decided to just push the taper in (Very slowly and gently). The pain was terrible though, worst stretch yet, so I didn't stretch the other ear. I decided to leave the taper in for a day or two then put the 6g tunnels in.

One day later, the pain didn't go down and it was slightly more swollen so I took the taper out. *Warning: Gross*

On the tapers was thick yellow pus. Then I took a paper towel to wipe my lobes. The hole was then oozing a lot of bloody opaque yellow pus.  Ick and ouch! Definitely infected, not a blowout though in the sense of that weird bump.

I end up saline soaking it for a good half hour then applying emu oil then downsizing back down to a 8g. If I were to look at the positives... At least I only F-ed up one ear.

The swelling is started to go down in the bad ear, but the good ear is taking the taping method smoothly.

To sum up this story: I STRONGLY suggest to start the taping method anything after a 8g (3.2 mm). I've read many forums on other's experiences and 8g (3.2 mm) to 6g (4 mm) is TOO large of a jump unless you plan to wait a 6 months to a year heal enough or have naturally fast healing ears.

Happy Halloween~

HAPPY HALLOWEEN~

Hope everyone is enjoying there Halloween this year. Sadly, I couldn't due to having night classes and having to study for an Exam early tomorrow morning. Curse you, College, Curse you. *shakes fists*

Although I knew I wouldn't particularly be able to celebrate today I gave a couple looks a shot last weekend, plus I'm throwing in a old photo.

Life Update: Growing up

I'm not dead, but This year has been a whirl wind of realization and changes.

Early College.
Well Technically early admission. It's a program where seniors in high school attend college like a freshmen in college earning college credits but also earning high school credits at the same time. It was the biggest decision of my life.

I was torn away from the ability to see my boyfriend and friends as consistently as I have, and experience my senior year. When I hear that we were on our own, I never thought that that also meant I would never be informed about any Graduation things such as my yearbook, cap and gown, or prom things. Luckily I had friends to inform me.

On the upside I was able to earn half of my AA for FREE. I've mentally grown quite a bit being around older people that are actually serious about school. The atmosphere was a ton calmer, which I believe cleared up my face from my horrible acne. I guess it was just all the stress and hormones involved with high school

Work.
I got a job busing tables at a Chinese restaurant. Sure it's not the most glamorous job, but I get paid over minimum wage at least. I love my coworkers and I've learn so much about my culture and how to socialize with strangers on a day to day bases. Prior the idea of speaking to adults scared and intimidated me to no end.

Heartbreak.
The mixture of work and going to a completely separate school from my boyfriend was taking a toll on our relationship. We had different schedules for work too.

3 years. Three years of my life was spent dedicated to loving this single person. I was basically with him for practically four because we were together since the middle of our freshmen year. We went through our highs and our lows.

We were complete opposites. Music, food, tastes, likes, dislikes, and personality-wise. We believed that it was our strength. We were wrong. We realized we had grown into completely two separate people with different paths to follow. Ironic because of how typical it is of high school sweet hearts to break during graduation time.

The health of our relationship turned sour. I wasn't able to give him the proper attention he deserved and wanted and he never stuck with his promises to me. Every night would end with a phone call of misery as one or both of us would leave upset.

I had seen the end coming near. So many signs were put forth, but I still had a death grip on the shred of good memories and hope. After he brought up how he lost his love for me due to those reasons, we mutually agreed that breaking up would be the better for the both of us. Now it is time for me to let that shred go, and I will.

He was my High School Sweetheart and first of everything. Despite many regrets, I've experienced and learned so much being in this relationship. Now it is time to move on. Coming out of it, I learned how to respect myself, not be a pushover, and to be less naive.

New Horizons.
It's time to start a new chapter of my life as I enter a university and move away from a county I've lived 18 years of my life.

Lip art: Once Upon a Time Season premiere~

I've been a little too obsessed with Once Upon a Time lately. I watched the entire season in two days. Once I get hooked on a TV show, drama, book, manga, or anime, I will just marathon the entire series. That's just how I roll.

The story-line isn't some cliche teenage girl plot at all. It includes all of my favorite childhood fairy tales, but with nice twists. You even learn to love every character once you know their tragic pasts. Side note: Rumpelstiltskin for the WIN  *gasp* AND Red's a total BAMF. :D

Oh lordy, the season 2 premiere is going to be so amazing. 8/7 central the ABC here I come~ *throws confetti*
Non-spoiler speculation: What if Henry's father turns out to be Baelfire? I mean come on very plausible, right? I'll be SOOOOO disappointed if it isn't because it would round out the plot so nicely.

Anyways, here is my lip art:

In dedication to the show~

The watermark is under 'Crescentfied' because that is my Deviant art user. I haven't even uploaded it there yet. So that'll be proof that it's indeed mine. Here is a link to my DA(*poke* check out my gallery ;D). [Here]

This is based off the logo/opening picture. There was no way I was fitting "Upon A Time" on my lips, so the white line will just have to do. I'm so proud of myself; the lip lining wasn't as horrible as I thought it'd turn out.

What I Used:

Not sure if any of these are lip safe(probably not), but it's what I used it anyway. So consider that a warning, I guess?

Nyx - Jumbo Pencil in Milk(depotted): Used for the wording.
Revlon - Illuminance Creme Shadow in Electric Pop:
                             Navy, middle blending lip color.
                             Periwinkle, the inner/center lip color.
L'oreal - Pencil Perfect in Ebony: Used as the Lip liner. <--- Happy to find use out of this really horrible eyeliner. No wonder it was discontinued.
Mehron - Aqua Paradise AQ in black: Used for the trees. <--- I'll never get enough of the smell, coconut-y goodness.
Nyx - Eye shadow single in Pacific: Used to set the inner/center of the lips.

PS. Thank you, Leesha(xsparkage) for doing your Once Upon a Time series. It helped me out of my boredom rut for a couple days.

NOTM: Abstract shapes and My first concert~

I've seen a couple of these around and decided to give it a whirl. My right hand sadly didn't come out nearly as neat at my left. xD I was also getting a ton of compliments on them. probably because I doubt anyone in my school is as nearly obsessed with nail polish and nail art as me.

What I used:
Fingerpaints - Paper Mache
Sinful Colors - Fig
Orly - Lucky Duck
L.A. Colors - art deco in Hot Orange, Yellow, Red, Sky Blue and Black

Life Update~

Concert:

Went to my very first concert yesterday. It was called the 97x BBQ and was free radio concert featuring The Used with a bunch of other bands. I didn't say there too long because my friend had to go to work and we were dieing from dehydration (12 to 4 pm in Florida). I ended up not being about to see The Used, which I didn't mind since I didn't know much about them prior to going.

Another friend was the one who suggested going and I didn't know any of the bands that were performing, but I tagged along anyway. Of course I did search of all the bands prior to going and was super happy we got to at least see Imagine Dragons perform, my favorite band after listening to all the bands that were there.

The picture above is my ticket and an advertisment fan from MetroPCS with all four of the band members of Imagine Dragons.

Now I'm obsessed with their song "It's Time"

Locks of Love:

I finally cut my hair to give to Locks of Love, an organization that gives wigs to kids that are/were suffering from cancer. My hair was down to my lower back so it's big change . It's been about 3 years since I had my hair around this length.

My summer plans:
Loads of volunteering for a scholarship and along with that exercising. I have to get back into riding a bike after 7 years to get to the library. I'm pretty stoked about volunteering there too. It's a pretty fancy library that over looks the water and is next to Winter the Dolphin(anyone seen the movie?). Along with the view, I'm doing a puppet show for kids and a few short summer camps.

Happy St. Patties Day~

Hope everyone is having good day, and hopefully you don't get pinched too hard, if your not wearing green. *Wince* The nostalgia of my childhood. After this post, I'll be off to Disney World, but before then here's a quick Nail of the Week/Moment.

Bringing in the New Lunar Year

I was going to do a New Chinese New Year MUL, but my eyes decided to swell up like tomatoes(Okay, Big exaggeration....but still quite a bit). :T Though, I REALLY hope it's not because of a new liquid liner I bought very recently. *Sigh*

But None the less, I wish anyone and everyone a
Very Happy Chinese New Year!
If you don't celebrate it, Happy January 23rd. XD

Go Year of the Dragon~
(Even though I'm a pig)

Merry Christmas~

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope everyone is safe at home with a family all around with a cup of hot chocolate in one hand and tucked into a warm and cozy robe, blanket, or Snuggie watching all the classic Christmas movies on ABC family.

Although at the moment in Florida it really doesn't feel at all Christmasy considering it's still around 70-80 degrees. >___> Definitely moving up north one day, even though I'd probably freeze to death because I've very vulnerable to the cold, considering I even sometimes wear jackets in the summer. ^^;

And last but not least, please enjoy my Christmas eye look I came up made a few days ago. Thought of it after I got sick of seeing all the gold eyeshadow and red lip looks on YouTube. :/

Products Used:
Nyx - Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Wet n' Wild - Coloricon palette  in I heart Matte, White Brownbone shade.
Morbid/Hot Topic - lip/eyeliner in Red.
Nyx - single eyeshadow in Redhead.
Physician's Formula - Shimmer Strips Gel liner in Green eyes, the Green shade.
Rimmel - Extra Wow Lash Mascara in Ultra black.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS~

Update: Back in Action! O~O

So Yeah... I've been away because of my broken camera dilemma for quite awhile. But Don't Despair because *drumroll* I FINALLY got a new camera so I should be updating every so often now again.

This school year's been so crazy so far. Scholarships, volunteering, club activities, job searching, and keeping up my grades, it's all making my head spin. I've really appreciated this much needed break.

My highlight was definitely Thanksgiving/Black Friday. Besides the dinner, waiting outside in the chilly weather for 3 hours till the opening of Target was dreadful. Luckily I was roughly around the 52-ish(beginning) person in the line, of which stretched all the way around the plaza.

It seemed like everyone there was gunning for the 42 or 46 inch. TVs or the Camera I'm about to show you below.  About 15 minutes after opening, Target was a sea of ginormous TVs.

Now onto my Camera~
Nikon Coolpix L105
- On Sale for $99.99, originally $199.99
- 15x Optical Zoom (HUGE differences from my old 3x Kodak)
- 720p HD video
- Looks Professional for a point and shoot camera, but definitely not very discrete because of it's large size.
- Comes with a Lens cap, Neck Strap, Manual, Software, and four AA batteries.
- The worst part about it is the fact that is does need four AA Batteries, but I've realized that that can be a good thing too, considering it will have a long battery life because from my experience with rechargeable electronics, they die out quite quickly.

On a separate topic, look what I scored at Ross~

Left to Right: No Shrinking Violet, Iced Spice, Raisin Rage, Black with Envy

Price: $5.99
Seriously that is basically a buy one get 3 free deal right there. They cam packaged in a plastic cylinder, was inconvenient to take a picture of, but if you missed getting the Black with Envy nail Polish Check you local Ross. (Side note: They also had the Color Club collections, Holiday 2011 glitters and the Foiled one. So maybe they will end up in yours too)
And Yes, that's the coveted Chanel Black Pearl dupe called Black with Envy. It was the Reason I bought the set really. Not really excited about Raisin Rage, which is a dark red creme, of which I already have very similar colors off.

P.S. I'm writing this right before my first ever job interview so wish me luck~

Farewell.

Soooo typically, when you think of a Floridian, you'd think all they do is go to Disney World or beaches all the time. I've lived here all my life and I honestly never go or have time to go, despite living a mere 10 minutes away from a somewhat well know popular beach. I took the picture above during the only time I was even able to go this summer, sad huh?

I'm somewhat disappointed with myself for not doing anything worth while over the summer and now I'm panicked that I'm heading back to school tomorrow. Happily I'll get to see my friends again, but absolutely terrified of the stress that will come with my most important year of high school, my junior year.  Because if I'm not mistaken this is the year I'll have to start thinking about scholarships and since I'll have to apply to colleges in the beginning of my senior year, the year they get grades off of is junior year, or so I've heard...

BUT Anyways, this is my Farewell to summer vacation and Hello to 180 days in a stress inducing prison... Well, so says my inner angsty teenager. xD

RIP: Kodak MX1063.

Well I pronounce my camera officially Dead.
So I can't take any pictures for this blog until I get a new one. Of which.... Believe me, will be forever... *cries* Unless roughly $150 magically appears in my wallet, I get a job or beg for one on Christmas.
I would get a job, but I need to start volunteering to fill out a scholarship qualification. :T I could Always attempt to use my cellphone camera, but as everybody knows phones have horrible quality pictures...*sigh*
Although I will be able to do a few reviews that I was planning to do with pictures that were prepared ahead of time. :D

MetroCon 2011 haul~

Luckily, I live a mere 30-40 minutes away from the Tampa Convention Center in Florida, that happens to conveniently host Florida's Largest Anime Convention aka MetroCon. :P
This Past Weekend, June 17th-19th 2011, was the I believe 9th annual convention.
It's been my third time coming to this convention and my sixth convention in total since I was about 11 years old. This was my first year attending all 3 days of a convention, of which I was super happy about.

On to the goods~

What bummed me out quite a bit was that they didn't even have a stand selling Pocky and Ramune, considering that's what us anime-tards thrive off of. :O

And yes that's a pink bear with Bloody claws. <3

MetroCon Weekend Pass: $60~ pass for all 3 days of metrocon, and to get into main events and vendor room.
Badges: $0.25 each~ Bought them from the artist alley. Not sure what the people who made them were named... ^^;
Gloomy Claw Key chain: $2~ >P
Gloomy Plushie:  $28~ So fluffy and dangerously adorable. I debated for basically two days on getting it, but I finally did.

Badge Close ups:
Top L-R: Edward(Full Metal Alchemist), Miku(Vocaloid)
Bottom L-R: Rin and Len(Vocaloid)

Gloomy Keychain close up:
You can also  stick your finger in the paw too.

Gloomy does in fact come in a variety of colors and although I'm not a pink person, I just had to stay with the Original Classic color of Gloomy.
I've been obsessing over Gloomy Stuff lately and wanting to make a collection someday. If you don't know who or what Gloomy is; Its A pink man eating bear hence the bloody mouth and claws. :3 Absolutely adorable in my opinion.
But come on let's face it Gloomy can soooo kick Hello Kitty's ass anyday. :P

*sigh* I really need to get a Job. :T Conventioning is sooooo expensive. D;
And so is makeup as a matter of fact...
